What is Ertex?
Ertex is a bespoke VIP vehicle design and engineering house that has built custom interiors since 1989. What started as a small Ankara workshop now runs showrooms across Turkey, Germany and the UAE.
Which vehicles does Ertex work with?
The Mercedes-Benz Vito, V-Class, VLE and Sprinter, the Volkswagen Caravelle, the Cadillac Escalade, and project-based armored VIP builds. Vito suits versatile everyday use, V-Class targets a more premium passenger experience, and VLE is Mercedes-Benz's fully electric Grand Limousine platform.
Should I choose a long or extra-long chassis?
It depends on luggage space, legroom priorities, passenger count and how the vehicle will actually be used — Ertex works through these with each client before settling on a configuration.
Does Ertex install folding seats?
No. A folding seat without a properly secured floor mounting doesn't meet the safety and homologation standards Ertex builds to, so occupant safety takes priority over that layout option.
Can a vehicle's roof be cut and raised for extra headroom?
No. Mercedes-Benz doesn't approve structural roof modifications of this kind on the Vito or V-Class, and a modification like this would fail safety and homologation testing.
How does the design and build process work?
Every project opens with a needs assessment and vehicle measurement session. From there, layout, ergonomics, materials and technology are developed digitally, followed by engineering checks, CNC production, hand craftsmanship, assembly and a final quality-control pass before delivery.
What quality and engineering standards does Ertex build to?
Ertex combines 3D scanning, physical prototyping, CAD/CAM development and CNC manufacturing with hands-on craftsmanship and component-level electronics testing. The company holds ISO 9001:2015 certification alongside TÜV SÜD and Applus IDIADA safety approvals, and builds to UN ECE regulations covering electromagnetic compatibility, seat belts, restraint systems, seat strength and lighting.
How is an armored vehicle platform chosen?
The choice — Sprinter, Cadillac Escalade, Mercedes G-Class or another platform — is worked out against the client's risk profile, protection objective, payload, passenger layout and destination approvals.
Which countries does Ertex serve?
Through showrooms in Turkey, Germany and the United Arab Emirates, Ertex serves clients across Europe, the Middle East and other international markets, with production centralised at the Ankara facility.
How long does delivery take?
Most vehicles are delivered within 15 to 45 days depending on specification, once the required homologation testing is complete.
What should I compare between VIP conversion companies?
Platform experience, in-house engineering and production capability, completed testing and homologation, the quality of materials and craftsmanship, and the warranty and service support behind the build.
