Ertex Grove · Kırşehir

A vehicle lasts thirty years.
A cedar lasts three hundred.

For every vehicle that leaves Ertex, ten cedar trees are planted in our grove in Kırşehir. The species, location and age of each tree are recorded, and every record is tied to the chassis number of the vehicle it belongs to.

Why

Even the best steel eventually tires

Since 1989 we have done one thing: build vehicles by hand, each one made only once. Permanence is part of the nature of that work — most vehicles that leave the workshop are still on the road years later, and some are now with a second generation of the same family.

Even so, leather fades, walnut veneer eventually cracks, and an engine falls silent. Thirty years is a fair life for a well-maintained vehicle, and we cannot change that number.

What we can change is what leaves alongside it. Ten cedars, planted for each vehicle, outlast it by roughly ten times over.

Two lifespans

Thirty years against three hundred

Most of what we plant is Taurus cedar, among the longest-lived trees in Anatolia. In the right ground it can stand for three centuries, and some stand considerably longer. Growth is slow in Kırşehir's dry soil, but slowness is not a problem for a programme measured in centuries.

Planting in Central Anatolia is not easy. Across July, August and September the site receives about thirty millimetres of rain in total — three fingers of water across an entire summer. So we plant in spring, run drip irrigation through the dry months, and every sapling stays our responsibility for its first three years.

The programme

From delivery to a recorded grove

Four steps connect a finished vehicle to ten living trees.

01

Vehicle delivered

The record opens when the bespoke vehicle is handed over to its owner.

02

Ten cedars planted

Ten Taurus cedars are planted in the Ertex Holding Grove in the next planting season.

03

Identity recorded

Species, location and age of every tree are recorded against the vehicle's masked chassis record.

04

Care and renewal

Ertex carries out field care, and any losses are replaced in the following planting season.

05

Open to visit

The grove can be visited at any time — it sits directly beside Big Thermal Resort.

06

Continuity

Species, location and age stay connected to the vehicle record for the life of the programme.
