From an Ankara workshop to an international group
The production culture that started in a small Ankara workshop in 1989 now runs across three countries.
Ertex was founded in Ankara in 1989. From the beginning the model was unusual for the sector: design, engineering, joinery, upholstery, electronics and quality control brought under one roof rather than distributed across subcontractors.
That decision is what still shapes the company. Around eighty percent of an Ertex interior is produced in-house, which is why a curve on one side of a cabin matches the one opposite, and why a problem found at assembly can be traced back to the drawing it came from.
The international structure followed the workshop rather than preceding it — Istanbul, then Düsseldorf in 2021, then Dubai in 2024 — with production staying centralised in Ankara throughout.
